Vaulting in Finland

Vaulting was practised already in the cavalry but modern vaulting as a children's and youngsters' sport, is still quite new. Vaulting was introduced in Finland in the early 1980ies. At this moment there are some 300 active Finnish vaulters. In vaulting competitions there are usually three competition classes: team vaulting, pair vaulting (Pas de Deux) and individual vaulting. Men and women compete in separate classes in individual vaulting.
